Morning Preparations
Aisling&Ross were coming from London to host their wedding at Galgorm Resort & Spa - so they booked in for the night before and cosied up before the big day. Aisling choose to get ready in the gorgeous cottages close to the venue and Ross got ready in the Hotel. Two photographer packages allow us to get both sides of the bridal party and it relieves stress from having to split between the two - so no moment is missed. Tara Doran was in charge of make up and she did an amazing job. Tara is such a calming influence on a morning and she just has it all under control. Rebecca was in charge of all the gorgeous locks - done with perfection as always - we have worked with her on so many occasions and she is always willing to help if we need a little shot set up - or something moved for light.
Aislings prep was super chilled out - she was ready super early in preparation for their first look - so many gorgeous moments.
First Look
If you are considering a first look - we can only say Yes Yes and more Yes! It doesn't take away from the gorgeous moment of walking down the aisle - that is still totally magical! What is does do - it allows you guys to have a moment to say "wow you look beautiful" - have a cuddle and calm the nerves before the day kicks off. A wedding ceremony kicks off the minute you get to the bottom of the aisle - there is no time for talking - it ends up a little whisper. Why not just have that moment to yourselves... Magical.
Aisling & Ross also included family once they had their moment, this allowed for parents to say hi and have a little celebratory drink together. This is how to do it!
Ceremony
The Phantom House at Galgorm makes for a moody, cosy feel. The river running beside the location and the waterfall just makes for a really gorgeous start to your day with guests being able to mingle outside before the ceremony begins. Aisling&Ross put together the most beautiful sentimental heart full ceremony alongside celebrant - Claire. Having a Humanist wedding allows you to build the ceremony around you both as a couple. We have found them to be super personal and typically really laid back - allowing your guests to feel relaxed and part of the most important significant part of the day. Claire brought a really lovely feeling with her smiley face - her warm words and her connection with Aisling&Ross. You will see from the photo how many laughs there were - and beautiful emotional moments on top! The perfect Ceremony!
Confetti&Mingle Time
After the wedding ceremony is done&dusted - phew! We encourage our couples to take a little time to say hello to their guests. Ross&Aisling opted for a little greeting line straight after the ceremony. Then a little confetti throw - because you must! Guests enjoyed the gorgeous courtyard right beside The Great Hall bar area. Enjoying drinks and mingle time in the sunshine - you couldn't ask for more.
Wedding Party Portraits
After the short mingle time - we encouraged Ross&Aisling to head off for portraits - this allows as much time on the other side of this for more mingling before sitting down to dinner. So we headed off to the river. We tend to discuss with our couples their favourite areas of their wedding venue and work from there depending on what the light and weather are giving us. The river at Galgorm is a popular spot - so we always try to ensure our photographs don't end up like a generic copy of everything else that is being shot there - with the light on their wedding day - we couldn't have asked for better. We absolutely adore how these guys just had fun together - that's how to do it.
Aisling&Ross
We take some time away from the crowd for portraits with our couples. This really helps couples relax into it without the fear of heckling from the audience. Aisling&Ross wouldn't consider themselves the most confident in front of the camera (although Ross was really feeling himself - we love that)
Great Hall Reception Details
The Flower Barrow did an outstanding job dressing The Great Hall. Most wedding venues don't require a full room make-over and The Great Hall is one of them. Candles and gorgeous pastel tones really work with the room decor and it is one of the most beautiful set ups we have seen so far. Subtle, chic and elegant. *Chefs Kiss*
Speeches
These guys killed it - their entrance in to the room was on fire! This sets the tone for the rest of the evening. The top table in Galgorm is situated in front of an amazing floor to ceiling window - which - when your photographer knows how to utilise it, can create such gorgeous interesting imagery with the backlighting. Speeches don't have to be boring - and these guys set the bar high!
Evening
Galgorm Resort & Spa has such a lovely vibe in the evening. The bar area is beautiful, with lots of seating for a little bit of chill time.
Goodnight Sweetheart - Twinkly Portraits
Sneaking away for a few quiet moments together - (and with us) is something we highly recommend to all of our couples. The official stuff has all been done - it's time to party - but before that, a little moment together on your own, a breather away from the crowd is so welcome. Couples don't often to think to set a little time aside, which is where we come in, we have been to many weddings, we hear the things that people would have done differently afterwards, and one of those things is just taking that moment. We shoot a few portraits and have a little fun, then we leave you alone for a moment to make your way back. And just look at what these guys have from that quiet time together, it is so worth it.
Dancing
Time to party! Aisling & Ross alongside their crew couldn't wait to get on the dancefloor. The party started fast and we were right in the middle of it alongside them! Such an amazing group of people. And thank you for having us be part of it all. The pleasure is ALL OURS!
